This blog is all about you. Because if you're here, you've probably read "Pilgrim" and, hopefully, you want to find out more.
"Pilgrim" started, quite unexpectedly, several years ago. At the time, I didn't even know it was going to become a book. In fact, I was working on another one: "Echoes". In that novel, the two principal characters interact across time, crossing between the medieval era and our modern world. It got me asking questions about time, about the nature of our reality. I'd heard about black holes and wormholes, of course, and how we might, theoretically, slip easily across vast distances in space. But I'd never stopped to think about what this thing we experience as time actually is, particularly in scientific terms. How could I make it believable that these two characters could bridge a 600-year time gap?
The answer that came wasn't even an answer. At least, not to the question I thought I was asking.
It was over breakfast with my friend Kate that I mentioned my quandary. Immediately and instinctively, she pointed me towards a book: "Ask and It Is Given" by Esther and Jerry Hicks. That was my introduction to the Law of Attraction. In retrospect, it seems somewhat off-topic. It's not a scientific book. It's not even about time. But it pointed me in a direction that has led to the most remarkable journey.
That's the nature of the universe we live in: it has the ability to answer a question we didn't even know we were asking, and to take us off on what looks like a detour but which turns out to be the path we always wanted to be on. With 20-20 hindsight, I can now see that I'd long been wondering about the nature of what we call our "reality".
With the new perspective I'd gained, the questions came thick and fast. Who else was talking or writing about this? How could I apply what I'd learned to my own life experience? And the one that was most important to me: what's the scientific basis for the Law of Attraction?
For several years now, that's led me into some fascinating places, exploring the worlds inhabited by quantum physicists, neuroscientists, spiritual teachers, and philosophers. It's also transformed my life, taking me from a corporate career to a life of writing, thinking, and challenging all of my long-held assumptions and beliefs.
It's already been an amazing journey. But I also know that this is just the start. Which brings me to why I've created this website.
Firstly, I want to share with you what I've read and how my thinking is changing as a result. Not to tell you how or what to think - only you can define that - but to open doors for you the way Kate did for me. Secondly, it's likely that you too are asking a lot of questions. And I'd love this to be a conversation with anyone who's thinking about the nature of this life experience and how we are creating our reality.
So, I'll be posting here whenever I discover something interesting to read, gain a new insight, or have an experience that could be viewed differently through the lens of an attraction-based universe.
And I hope you'll be part of the conversation.
